My First Blog Post; Why GCU?

Why Glasgow Caledonian University?

This is not a tricky question, rather it made me think beyond my unwritten thoughts.. I knew I wanted more after My Undergraduate degree, so I applied to two different University in England of which I got offers to. However, I was still a bit worried of how to pay for my housing as the student loan covered my tuition fee but too little to pay for both. Despite this I stayed positive and decided to work during the summer to save up. I wanted two jobs but ended up with one which was not enough. I continuously made a budget list as I really wanted to do my Masters in Food Science, and could not wait. I have just done a module on it in my second year as a BSc (Hons) Nutrition and Health student and I loved it. I felt that I could still demonstrate my cooking skills in a professional manner through my career as a New product development technologist. Yes, I chose Glasgow Caledonian University (Glasgow) because they offer my course but there is more..


I never stopped praying to God for financial support and I decided to google more low cost University. I came across Glasgow Caledonian University during my second search on a different day….The tuition fee was half the price to England. My initial reaction was; what?!, no way! how come? where have you been hiding? I was grateful and hopeful throughout the application process which was successful. I am here because the University tuition fee appears to be the cheapest compared to the rest of the Universities offering the course in the UK. I am here because Glasgow Caledonian University found me worthy (even though that’s not something i’ll usually say), most importantly I am here because God wants me to be here.
